Overview

Last updated: June 24, 2026.

Moss SMP is a community Minecraft server and website. This policy explains what information may be collected when you use the Moss website, Minecraft server, Discord community, wiki, live map, store links, or support channels.

For privacy questions or requests, contact Moss staff through discord.mosssmp.net.

Information We Collect

  • Website data: normal server logs such as IP address, browser, device, pages requested, timestamps, and error logs.
  • Minecraft server data: Minecraft username, UUID, IP address, gameplay activity, chat and command logs, economy data, reports, punishments, moderation notes, and anti-abuse records.
  • Discord and support data: information you choose to send in support tickets, reports, direct messages to staff, or community channels.
  • Store-related data: if you use the official store, payment processing is handled by the store and payment providers. Moss staff may receive purchase metadata such as username, package, transaction status, and fraud or chargeback signals, but not full payment card details.

The static Moss website does not intentionally set advertising cookies. Third-party services linked from the site, such as Discord, the map, store, vote sites, or the wiki host, may process data under their own policies.

How We Use Information

  • Operate the website, Minecraft server, wiki, map, Discord support, and store integrations.
  • Keep accounts, purchases, ranks, permissions, inventories, economy records, punishments, and support requests functioning.
  • Moderate chat, investigate reports, prevent griefing, cheating, spam, harassment, fraud, and security abuse.
  • Diagnose errors, improve performance, plan server updates, and protect the community.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Moss rules and Terms of Service.

Sharing and Third-Party Services

Information may be available to Moss staff and service providers that help operate hosting, moderation, backups, Discord support, payments, security, analytics, or server infrastructure. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect users, to investigate abuse, or to enforce server rules.

Moss does not sell personal information. Moss does not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children and Younger Players

Moss SMP is a general-audience Minecraft community and is not directed to children under 13. Players under the age required by Minecraft, Discord, payment providers, or local law should use Moss only with permission from a parent or guardian.

Do not send private personal information, payment details, addresses, passwords, or sensitive security issues in public chat or public Discord channels. If a parent or guardian believes a child submitted personal information that should be removed, contact Moss staff through Discord.

Your Choices and Requests

You may contact Moss staff to request access, correction, deletion, or review of information associated with your Minecraft username, Discord identity, support ticket, or store purchase where Moss controls that information. Some records may need to be retained for security, fraud prevention, rule enforcement, dispute handling, backups, or legal reasons.

If you are in a region with specific privacy rights, such as the EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, or another applicable jurisdiction, contact Moss staff and identify the request type so it can be reviewed.

Security, Retention, and Updates

Moss uses reasonable operational safeguards for server and community data, but no online service can guarantee perfect security. Keep your Minecraft, Microsoft, Discord, and store accounts secure and never share passwords with staff.

Records are retained for as long as needed for server operation, community safety, moderation, backups, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. This policy may be updated when Moss systems or legal requirements change.
